The music compositions for film by Paul Haslinger bear the stamp of a distinctive hand, essentially based on the use of sound. Haslinger, following his classical education at the music academy of Vienna, acquired this specific use of sound in the techno-ambient pioneering collective “Tangerine Dream”. As a permanent member of Tangerine Dream from 1986 to 1991 he significantly shaped the sound of the band. In this period he gained his first experiences in composing music for film. In the nineties the Austrian born Haslinger moved to L.A., where he became very fast a strong authority in the American film music scene.
